WATER PLAY
YOU DON'T NEED A POOL TO LEARN WATER CONFIDENCE
Water Play is my definition of getting our kids exposed to water, in a fun, safe and most secure environment right at home. Starting from birth to ages 5, Water Play helps with bath-time routine, gets us prepared for pool swim lessons (what to expect, overcoming immersion and breathe control under water), and allows self expression in a low stimulating environment to reduce stress, relieve physical tension and supports creativity and reflection.
BUILDING WATER SKILLS AT HOME
I believe in the power of taking showers and also in bath-time magic! When we immerse ourselves in a body of water the benefits are numerous, how much more so when that water is a warm embrace in a familiar and nurturing setting - our bathroom at home.
Water Play are bath sessions where our young swimmers are introduced to water habits like immersing their faces (nose and ears) in the water, blowing bubbles, holding their breathe under water, back floating, flipper kicks.
We build water confidence and give the body a great relaxing, free-flowing environment of movement and expression. For newborns, the bonding of parent and swimmer is substantial and a wonderful activity to add to daily routine.
LIKE A HOME SPA FOR BEDTIME ROUTINES
Incorporate some baby massage techniques after water play in the bath for maximum relaxation or getting our kids into the mode of downtime before bed. Water Play and massage are the recipe for healthy, nurturing and positive connection and bonding.
